I just found out I have lung cancer. How do I tell my family?

Lung Cancer

Talking about a life-threatening illness is hard, but you don't have to do it alone. Talk to your doctor and ask if a meeting with loved ones is appropriate and if it can be arranged to discuss treatment options and other issues of concern. Ask any and all questions you have and designate a family member to be your spokesperson. The spokesperson will be the one to communicate with your doctor and other healthcare professionals about issues surrounding your illness and care - issues such as hospice and palliative care as well as advance directives.
